I turned to yoga in 1999 hoping it would relieve chronic pain from past sports injuries. I quickly noticed the physical benefits that consistent practice provided but also discovered a wealth of psychological and emotional benefits. I started sleeping better, eating better, stressing a lot less, and feeling more positive and optimistic. Overall, I credit yoga with lighting the path to a richer and more mindful experience of life. I enjoy sharing my love for the practice and its transformative effects by teaching.
I am trained in the Kripalu tradition, having studied with Deva Parnell of Discovery Yoga, St. Augustine. My classes offer a holistic approach to yoga by addressing the correct balance of challenge and ease, both physically and mentally. Alignment and breathwork are emphasized, as well as inward focus, spiritual attunement, and self-acceptance. Students are encouraged to work to the limits of their personal flexibility and strength. It is my goal to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment in which students can truly enjoy and deepen their yoga practices!
